I thought I would do a little flashback today to a warmer afternoon only a few weeks back..... 

...after this week, I am pretty sure days like the one featured above are behind us for another year....we are wearing much warmer clothing and spending lots of time inside this week..... some of us even have snow.... :(

Another Friday is here again, and I sit here and wonder where have all the days gone?? They are melting away right before my eyes. How is it July 18th???? I am in awe.... is summer really almost half over??? These are questions I ask myself almost every other day right before I go to bed. I can't tell you how many times I have been told, 'time goes by faster as you get older' and its true! I remember being a kid and thinking time went by at a snails pace....now I can't keep track of the days in the week.... only Friday, I always know when it is Friday!!

I hope this weekend doesn't pass by too quickly for you.... or me for that matter!

Summer temperatures have finally arrived over these last couple weeks and you won't find me complaining about the warmer days or evenings! Summer weekend madness is also ramping up... it seems like my weekends are scheduling right up with fun activities and hopefully I will get to share some of it with you over the next couple months!

Long weekend is here.... thank goodness!! These last two weeks have been busy (to say the least!), maybe when I have a chance to get caught up I will post some pics of the fun stuff we did for Mothers Day weekend... don't hold your breath on that though, it might be a while! 

Lately we have been spending a little more time outside and even visited the park for the first time last week.... the swings were a hit, and same with the slides (with Jet of course!). I am getting back into the running groove, which feels great, and this weekend we are headed camping with friends! Bring on summer!!! Wishing you all a safe a happy long weekend!

Happy Friday... lets eat cake!

It has been a busy week with lots of excitement around here!
 It was Jets 1st Birthday Wednesday and we had a family bar-be-cue at our house to celebrate! Jet was showered with love, and had quite the time ripping apart his cake with his cousin Dierks; together these two provided the evenings entertainment!

Thanks to all my family members and friends for their support this first week back at work, it was a success; apart from the early mornings I think we are all going to adjust just fine to these new routines!

We are tree-shopping this weekend... exciting, I know!!

Happy Friday and a message to my "mom" friends....

 

Birthday celebrations for Jet kicked off yesterday! I promised myself I wouldn't go overboard with a huge party, instead I decided it might be nice to have some of Jets best playmates and their awesome moms over for an early celebration (and save his actual birthday (next Wednesday) for our immediate family).

 

I honestly can't quite imagine what this year would have been like without my "mom" friends these ladies really are outstanding women, and because of Jet I am privileged enough to be their friends! These ladies have heard about my sleepless nights, and all of Jets crazy diaper accidents, they have seen me at my worst and been the BEST support network I needed to get through this first year!! Week in and week out we have watched these little people grow and kept each other entertained with stories we could all relate to and laugh at!

Thanks for the picture Karine.... but I wish you were in it!

So thanks ladies, from the bottom of my heart, when I had Jet I never realized I would also acquire a group of terrific ladies to share in the adventure with, you and your babies are just terrific!!

 

 Today marks the end of my maternity leave.... Monday will be a fresh start and I have to admit I am feeling excited about it!

Hey folks, its Friday! We have a jam-packed few days ahead with a few birthdays for friends and family, young and old (...sorry Josh you now fall in the old category when compared to toddlers!!); I am having dinner and drinks with some of my favourite dinner club ladies, throw in a few errands hear and there and I can only imagine this weekend will be over before I know it!

Happy (Good) Friday...

What is going on outside?!? I know I shouldn't even be mentioning it (if your in Edmonton your facebook feed is probably full of rants about the weather), but this snow is CRAY-ZEEEEE!!! Its April.... where are the April SHOWERS....that bring May FLOWERS?!? This morning Ryan and I discussed taking Jet for a sleigh ride (LOL), talk about confusing the little guy, especially since last week we were going out with no coats!! It is a good thing I didn't get around to packing up our winter jackets and boots.... we are going to need them the next few days!

This is our first Easter weekend with Jet, this morning I couldn't help but think, one year ago, I was struggling to sleep with a belly the size of a watermelon...now I am struggling to sleep because our little man wants to get up and play with mom and dad in the morning!!

I love weekends like this with the family!! How are you celebrating the long weekend!?!

Ryan left for Vegas yesterday afternoon, so it is just me and the little guy around here this weekend! I don't have any crazy plans, but maybe a visit or two with some girlfriends...

Jet was 11 months on Monday.... trying to get a 11 month old to sit still for a picture is a task in itself, and I am clearly not very good at it.... here is one shot that turned out.... and one that didn't....

Also, Jet has a little soother obsession going on these days that I would like to break... he manages to find them in the randomest places....

Happy Friday...

This week has been productive, not that I have had a lot to accomplish, but I have been busy and I don't mind being a little extra busy every once in a while! Jet was sick last night, poor little guy had his first dose of the flu :( not fun..... but I think he is feeling better today, and he is sleeping like a newborn (or at least like how he did when he was a newborn and that was a lot!) so I don't mind at all!

This week was all about getting back into routines, I am starting to set my alarm a little earlier in the morning so I can get up before Jet, and becoming more scheduled with my workouts; with it only being a little over a month until I am back to work life the days of sitting on the couch and eating bon bons all day are over....(if you didn't catch the sarcasm in that last statement, it was meant to be a joke! HA), showering, brushing my teeth and putting on professional clothing before 8AM will be part of the morning routine.... and that rarely happens around here now adays, (I mean showering and brushing my teeth are daily occurrences, but definitely not before 8AM!! LOL... my mom friends will understand what I mean here!).

This weekend Ryan and I are going to try and get out for a date night sans babe, it has been a while, so that should be nice! I think the weather is going to be nice too, maybe we will get outside for a little while... that would also be nice!

Happy (Flashback) Friday....

 
I was organizing my photos from Hawaii for an upcoming post and couldn't get enough of this little man!! I decided todays Happy Friday would be devoted to a flashback of my happy little nephew Dierks in Hawaii! Him and Jet are going to be trouble in a few years... but for now they are just the sweetest little men; Dierks little laugh is infectious, and his eyes are so full of expression...

  Don't you just want to squeeze him?!?!

 I just love him so much!!

This weekend we will be visiting family in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, both Jet and Dierks are tagging along, it should be a fun trip!!

Happy Friday...

I am hoping this weekend will bring us better health than this past week, both Jet and I have been suffering from colds and I can't remember the last time I felt this stuffy!! I feel like things have been looking up the last couple days.... so I have high hopes that I have seen the worst of what this cold season had to offer, and now that SPRING (!!!!!) is here, I have lots to look forward to!

I have actually been doing lots of thinking this last week about our backyard, the garden, and everything I am so excited to get going on once all this snow is gone!! I love this time of year, a new season means new goals, fun ideas, and a fresh outlook! Whats not to love about the fact that the days are getting longer, the snow piles are getting smaller and before we know it the greens that will take us through summer will be here to stay???!!!

On another note, I was going through my photos last night and came across a few I snapped while we were away. I thought these photos were fitting for the week we have had around here, naps and cuddles will cure any cold....

There is nothing more peaceful than a sleeping baby?! Am I right?!

Winter had really made itself at home these last few weeks and I am ready to say "so long old man".... I thought March was supposed to bring warmer temperatures...that seems like wishful thinking these last few days.....

On a lighter note, Jet is 10 months today..... where did the time go?! But really?? I am back at work in less than 2 months.... and life will change yet again as we adapt to another new way of life!!
